I first saw Jen Rouse’s artwork in Kristin Garth’s Sonnetarium zine with Rhythm & Bones Press when she presented her piece “Lost Umbilicus.” I wrote a poem about her painting, which called to such a deep place within me. We at Animal Heart are so pleased to be able to share a piece that Rouse made here. I present two pieces on the theme of Octopus.
