ENOUGH

We are ghosts in the dream, us but somehow
less. You reach for my hand and take it but I can see
the table beneath us, our bodies now translucent,
our connection fading. You say you love me but
my heart lies silent, nearly invisible in my gossamer
chest. Your heart is still beating behind your transparent
ribs, still trying to convince me it’s enough.
