i am woman child
belly of life
naked with desire

drunk on pleasure
throb poetry
breathe fire
we bleed soul
          down

self harm (originally published in Little Rose Magazine)
score the knife against     the stone,
she said.
i would.
we are all just star maps,   she said.
playing follow the leader.
drawing lines from one     rusty wheel
to another,
trying to atone.
her thigh became            the stone.
i never knew,
she said,
as aubergine pools drew   tiny crescents
in the leaves.
