Introducing Featured Artist Khalisa Rae!

Wildlings, we’re thrilled to introduce our latest Featured Artist, Khalisa Rae!



Khalisa Rae is a queer black poet, educator, and activist, that speaks and writes with fierce rebellion. She published her first book Real Girls Have Real Problems, in 2012.  Her recent work has been seen in numerous publications including, Glass Poetry, Homology Lit,  Hellebore, Tishman Review, the Obsidian, New Shoots Anthology, Red Door, Red Press – Anatomy of Silence Anthology, among others. She is a finalist for the Lucille Clifton Prize, the Furious Flower Gwendolyn Brooks Poetry Prize, and a winner of the Fem Lit Magazine Contest, and the Voicemail Poetry Contest. She is staff-reader/editor of Carve Magazine and Kissing Dynamite and currently serves as Creative Director of Athenian Press- a social justice arts collective and literary safe space for women/femme/gnc/trans folks. Her full-length poetry collection, Ghost in a Black Girls Throat is forth-coming from Red Hen Press Spring 2021. Her boutique poetry and art collection is the recent winner of the White Stag Publishing Contest.
