REMEMBER THE OCEAN

A literal ocean rushes beneath our skin. Every morning
the tide surges in me, reminding me that even though
we no longer speak, even though my toes are no
longer buried in the sand, the salt air that once filled
my nostrils is still inside me, the ocean in me will always
remember the ocean in you.
